Hastings has a relatively sophisticated Geographic Information System. We developed this with John Schweisinger, of Turf Images in Monterey, CA. Many people contributed geospatial data to the GIS over the years. If funding is available, staff at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology ( MVZ - our home at Berkeley ) are trying to put it on a server (ArcView).
